DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT - SATYA JEWELRY
We get up close and personal with Satya, one of the creative minds behind Satya Jewelry. Blending spiritual symbols, healing gemstones and sacred meanings, Satya Jewelry is created with grace, style and a global consciousness. Founders/designers and long time friends Satya and Beth translate their spiritual exploration into jewelry with the intention to inspire each persons individual truth. Each collection combines semi-precious gemstones, with sterling and gold. Stones are chosen for their healing properties such as garnet (grounding and inner strength), sapphire (fulfills dreams and desires) and tourmaline (inspiration).
How would you describe your collection?
Beautiful, meaningful, and timeless.
Where do you get your inspiration?
The look of the jewelry is inspired by our many travels across the world & the beautiful stones that are available in the market drive the collections each season. I consider myself a “Yogi Buddhist” and to be around both cultures that emanate what I strive to be in my life is the backbone for the overall inspiration.
How does it feel seeing the hottest celebrities wear your jewelry?
Celebrities are bombarded with free product to promote brands, but most of the celebrities that wear Satya Jewelry have purchased it at one of our stores or our resellers, this is the ultimate compliment.
What is next for Satya Jewelry?
We will be designing the Valentines & Spring/Summer 2011 Collections. In the next three years we would like to expand with more Satya Jewelry stores in USA.
What’s hot this season for accessories?
Tassel Mala Necklaces, they are so versatile can be worn around the neck or wrist. The look is elegant & casual. I wear my black onyx tassel mala everyday.
What do you love most about what you do?
When we started the business the intention was to donate a % of all our sales to children around the world. It was always so frustrating as a social worker not really making a difference because of lack of funding etc. Now with the foundation we know exactly where the money is going and what children are being touched by it. The second part I love & that brings equal satisfaction is when our customers share their amazing stories about why they purchased the jewelry & what it means to them. The intention of Satya jewelry is to make our customer feel beautiful, abundant and powerful. I want the jewelry to remind them of their inner and outer beauty.
What advice can you offer to emerging fashion designers?
Find what you are passionate about and design around it. Work from your heart it’s the most powerful part of you!
How would you describe your collection?

Alex and Ani products are handcrafted from eco friendly recycled materials made entirely in the United States. Carolyn is deeply committed to creating a greener future for the planet and its inhabitants. Reusing and recycling materials in the creation of her jewellery is an integral part of her mission as a conscious, eco friendly designer.

How would you describe your collection?
Alex and Ani's collections reflect a design aesthetic that celebrates each wearer's unique essence. My jewelry is designed to make people feel empowered and make a personal connection to the pieces they choose to wear.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I am inspired by people, their unique energies, what makes them who they are, and what is truly important to them. Jewelry has the means to empower and I am just a designer who helps facilitate one to their own greatness because the meaning behind many of the pieces I create should reflect the essence of the wearer. Our Collections are all about what is inspirational to you and reflects you as a human being, Whether it be a cross, Buddha, an Om Symbol, you can create a custom piece that is your own and directly represents your life’s purpose and individual spirit…
How does it feel seeing the hottest celebrities wear your jewelry?
It is always flattering to see a celebrity wearing Alex and Ani jewelry. It’s rewarding to know so many people relate to my designs and choose to wear my jewelry, because in essence they are really choosing things that represent themselves, which is way cool.
What is next for Alex and Ani?
I have many new collections coming out… My jewelry is designed for every woman and now soon to be every man with a unisex(y) line, called A Squared. This line will be available in Spring 2011 and will be a collection of necklaces, rings and bracelets for both women and men. We also have a Vintage 66 by Alex and Ani: Generations of Glamour collection inspired by the statement jewelry worn in the 1960s, and Alex and Ani Sport: where powerful energy, style and comfort meet. Both collections will be available shortly, so stay tuned!

Over the top, statement pieces such as cocktail rings are a must have accessory this season. Keep your eyes peeled for Alex and Ani’s new line of oversized cocktail rings called LadyFingers.

MarLey Rose hits the runway at MBFF!
We have been extremely busy here at MarLey Rose head quarters! Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival swimwear label Terri Donna exclusively chose MarLey Rose jewellery to join her models on the runway! The runway show looked fantastic! So many bright summer loving colours! The show looked so good infact this photo (above) was chosen for the inside cover of The Australian newspaper!
